I am grateful to Attorney Sherwin for allowing me to join
his foreclosure defense blog and write about some of my experiences as a
foreclosure defense attorney.
This part of my career began at the time of the financial
crisis. There were few attorneys
who had practiced in the area of foreclosure defense. And fewer judges who had heard about the issues.
This is an important area of practice and has huge
implications for the homeowner who is defending the right to stay in their
home. Unfortunately, the
government has not taken a strong stand against the banks. When they do attempt to pursue the
banks for bad foreclosure practices, the efforts are less than
enthusiastic.
This is why it is important that if you are in a foreclosure
situation that you take the time to consult with an attorney and one who has
experience in foreclosure defense.
AND THE EARLIER THE BETTER.
It is much easier for a foreclosure defense attorney to
represent your interests if you contact them when you first have problems with
the payment of your loan than if you wait until the week before the foreclosure
or even after the foreclosure.
